I started off with cerelac rice for my baby when she was 4 and half months. Initially I mixed a lot of water in it and made it runny, a little thicker than formula milk. Later on made it thicker and now its similar to dosa or pancake batter consistency.

She seems to like it and did not like it with sugar as suggested by many people. Im sure it also must be my influence as I love rice and can eat rice at any time of the day.

During the entire pregnancy they take utmost care of you. You might be frustrated with the number of times they make you repeat tests. But they understand how precious your pregnancy is and are really serious about it.

Even the doctors who come there for scanning are very good.
If you follow them to the T, they will really help you out.

I did not choose to deliver there as I wanted better facilities for delivery. I was not happy that they have just 3 rooms which they call suite and an OT.
Their pricing is equal to Cloud nine but they need to improve the quality of their rooms.

Overall I don’t want to highlight negatives; they are a great place to go to help you with all your problems. Dr Revathi Rajan is simply superb, she is confident, very well educated and takes you very seriously. I would like to thank them over and over again for making it possible for me.

  • Hair dryer is another useful remedy. Just run the dryer (not on your baby), just the sound  will stop the crying.

Baby at 4 months

There is so much going on right now with my little girl. She has started recognizing me and some of the close people around. The feeling of being wanted is so great.

But the only drawback are that she just hates going out of home. She does not like the look of strangers and if anyone carries her she just cries and cries and is inconsolable. I hope this changes over time.

Otherwise it’s getting better and better, all those sleepless nights are getting better. The greatest thing I learnt during pregnancy and parenting is patience and that waiting really helps. Continue reading →

My little one stares at her feet. She enjoys her bath.  It’s so nice to spend time with her. Her giggles and laughs are priceless.

I find it very difficult to manage work from home with a baby. I don’t know how time flies.

Following the advice of many of my friends I added sugar to the cereal but she did not like it.
She liked the taste of plain Cerelac. We started off feeding her the Cerelac made into a runny liquid consistency. Later on we made it like a paste. Right now, I’m feeding her in the consistency of dosa or pancake batter.

My Pediatrician advised me to give her toor dal water with a little jeera (cumin seeds) and salt cooked in a pressure cooker. She liked the taste.

Another food advice was Ragi porridge. I have the mix ready, it is called Silverspoon ragi powder. Review here.

She advised me to feed her fruits in the morning. All fruits should be steamed or boiled.
I started off with apple puree which she did not like much. Im still trying to make her like it.

Since we use a lot of spices and oil here in India it’s always advised to keep a separate set of utensils for the baby. I don’t have a sterilizer yet so I use a big steel vessel with drinking water to sterilize her bottles and bowls.

The nipple is a little hard so right now she loves to bite on it.

For feeding Cerelac at home I use a beautiful silver bowl and spoon which I picked up from Krishniah Shetty Jewellery store in Bangalore.

When we are outside I drop in the powder in a Tupperware box which can be used as a bowl, and I always carry a flask to prepare fresh formula milk or Cerelac. I use a heat sensing spoon with me handy always. The spoon I use is from Nuby. Reviewed here.
