Kids Return Gifts Ideas

plastic bag

Hello Ladies!!

People following this blog know that recently we had a naming ceremony function for my daughter. Since it’s a very formal and traditional occasion we first thought of only giving the ladies tambulya, guess again it’s a very south Indian thing, where women are given coconut, a blouse piece, pooja thali, beetle leaf etc.

During my count we realized that around 25 to 30 kids would be attending the function and I need to give them something. But I did not want to spend a lot as very soon as I will conduct Maanvis first birthday and I will have to again come up with ideas agin. So you know how we don’t want to strain our brain again, right?..

But one thing when it comes to kids, they are so happy with any little gift they receive. The exitement and smile on their face is worth seeing.

So finally I came up with some goodies, my list below:

Please forgive me for not using the original pics, its my bad that I forgot to click pictures L But the images here are the exact gifts that we gave the kids. Do share your list with our ladies here..

I picked up nice colorful plastic bags similar to the image above, as that’s the first thing that kids get attracted to. I got a nice angry birds one. Sorry I don’t have the image L

Later I wanted two different gifts one for boys and one for girls. Girls I have seen are the ones who take the gifts home and use, so I decided to give them a nice fancy color pencil set, like the one below.

Boys generally are very curious with gifts and I wanted to give something that they will meddle with there only and give their moms a break, so gifted a kaleidoscope. I saw all the boys busy seeing through the lens. Both the gifts were below 100, one around 85 another 90 I guess.

kelidoscope

Most kids were school going so I added an eraser and sharpener teddy. It was so cute. Costed me 35 RS.

eraser

Later for the candies, I did not want to add the common dairy milks or candies that you get in India. Wanted something imported as it will give some variation to the kids.

In the imported range, I think kids are fed up of kisses and the usual snickers, bounty etc.

So I chose foxes, jellies, the burger one was a big hit and tiffanys. All fast to eat and it’s not very expensive too. Do let me know your ideas.. Il need it for sure..

Another top choice was foldable water bottles, but my cover landed up being too small for it.

Beauty Treatments and Makeup During Pregnancy

makeup

During pregnancy many women freak out using the same products that they used before as they feel that makeup would harm the baby. I was once a big makeup freak before I had my baby.

So here are some safe beauty treatment and makeup tips:

Facials, Clean ups: during the initial months you can sit through a facial. Usually the skin is very sensitive during pregnancy so use mild products.

Bleach: You can bleach your face; try not to bleach the body. Sit in a nicely ventilated place during bleach. Herbal bleach like Fem herbal bleach is good.

Lipstick: don’t use dark colors as it contains lead, go for mild colors.

CTM: You can use mild cleanser, alcohol free toners and moisturizer. Cleaners from Bodyshop are good or use coconut oil as a cleanser, try the toner from lush and a good oil free moisturizer. Continue reading

Foundations: try to avoid them as they block pores and will hide all your natural glow.

Blush: Avoid blush it will make your already bloated face look worse.

Kajals and eye makeup: Avoid too much glittery makeup as the particle might harm the baby, a kohl or kajal is safe. Again sorry to repeat herbal ones like Shahnaz are considered safe.

Soaps and shampoos: most soaps and shampoos are safe during pregnancy.

Waxing: There is no proof that waxing induces contractions, I would say avoid on your legs, but for the hand its fine.

Eyebrow and Upperlip shaping: If you’re a very sensitive person and would start to contract or pull yourself back, avoid it.

Pedicure and manicure: Its totally safe and relaxing, try not to lift your leg too high during pedicure.

Haircuts: it’s good to trim your luscious hair.

Avoid:

Body massage: very few people know how to massage a pregnant lady, so don’t take a risk avoid it.

Hair coloring

Any chemical treatments like hair spa

Facials involving machines, lasers, IR, ultrasound, even if they say it’s safe, don’t take a risk, walk out.

Review of Flamingo Lumbar Sacro Belt

flamingo belt

I first ordered a custom made belt after my delivery, but since it was made of cloth, the belt used to roll and stick to one place. So I was in the hunt of a nice belt which would help in pushing my tummy inside and also support my back.

I have very bad back aches. So I just happened to buy this belt and I like it a lot. It fits perfectly well.

Pros:

  • The belt has very good width so it covers the entire lumbar region. Starting below the busts to the end of the hips.
  • Best part is that the belt breaks into three. So it adjusts to your body shape Continue reading
  • It has some hard material to support the back. So its perfect during walks and lifting.
  • After wearing the belt there is an additional thin belt which falls over the belt which makes the belt tighter.
  • I didn’t see the belt stretch too much in the past 3 months, it’s as it is.
  • For small busted people it pushes the entire stomach inside, you can even wear it outside.

flamingo 2

Cons:

  • I feel very hot in it
  • For big busted women it highlights the bust so it’s not good to wear outside the house.
  • Cant squat and do some ground work like swabbing for a long time.

I’m not sure about other belts, but this is a good buy so wanted to share with you guys. I’m too lazy to wear it these days. After reading my own article I’m all pepped up to wear it from tomorrow..

Breastfeeding in Public Places

Bf

All new moms will know how painful it is to breastfeed here in India. I never wanted to go out anywhere just because of this reason. Babies below 6 months are exclusively breastfed and they have very tiny stomachs so they start crying for feed very often.

Last week was world breastfeeding week. I saw big campaigns everywhere. From radio to TV we heard big big words about breastfeeding and that a mother should breastfeed her child. But what support do we have here in India.?

What is the government doing for breastfeeding moms? Where do we breastfeed? Should we be jailed for 6 months? There is no place where you can breastfeed in public places and this is the truth. When my baby used to cry for feeds in the car, I too used to feel like crying.  Continue reading

With the ban on tinted glasses, anyone can look inside the car. We can say if everyone is good and we don’t have any perverts around. It’s so uncomfortable only a mom will know. People from buses and two wheelers stair inside the car.

One tip here, use pillows to cover the window. Generally use a lot of pillows or take a lot of people with you and sit in the middle of the back seat.

Wear sarees, dupattas, stoles, any amount of cover is still less.

People travelling by auto and two wheelers, I’m very sorry. I have no advice.

Always go to some place close to someone known persons house, so that worse case you can drop by.

Go to big malls. Check if the mall has a mother’s room.

Bangalore central claims to have a mother’s room, but they show you the trial room with a small stool where you can barely balance yourself leave alone the kid.

I remember going to Malabar gold a jeweler store, they had allotted a small dingy room, size of a small table and they were trying to stuff me into that space when another lady was already feeding.

All these large shops have such a small space for mothers, it’s so sad. See their priority.

I somehow hated going out itself even temples, I did not find any allocated place. But when we went to ISKON the people there were very kid to offer me a room to breastfeed.

I hate seeing these big hoarding on breastfeeding, when no one really cares.

I will work with la leche league to address these issues. Please add your inputs it will really help me in starting this campaign.

Home Remedy for Teething

By Megha

teething

Hello everyone. Today I would like to tell you something about the milk teeth of your babies.

They usually erupt at the age of 4-6months. The appearance of normal teeth is eagerly awaited by the parents as it marks an important milestone in development. In most of the cases eruption of teeth causes no discomfort to the child and parents but sometimes the process causes mild irritation locally and other signs may be seen. You may observe one of the following while your child is erupting his/her teeth.

  • Swelling of the gum overlying the erupting teeth
  • General irritability
  • Sleeplessness
  • Restlessness
  • Loss of appetite
  • Increased salivation and drooling
  • Slight fever

These are the common signs associated with the eruption of the milk teeth. There are certain preventive measures which can be followed: Continue reading

  • Maintain the child’s oral hygiene
  • Gums should be wiped after each meal with soft cotton

Now, you must have heard about the teething objects usually prescribed during teething. This is done because during teething, child has a natural tendency to chew on hard objects. This act stimulates the gum pads for smooth and painless eruption of teeth. Few examples of these objects are as follows:

  • Hard, non-sweetened rusks made from firm consistency
  • Use of hard fruits like apple. This also develops in the infant the taste of the fruit
  • Use of specially manufactured objects like keys, blowers and rings is also recommended.
  • Use of toasted bread also works or soup sticks
  • Carrot and a big piece of coconut can be given but should be monitored carefully.

In nutshell do not worry while your child is erupting his or her first tooth. If there is any problem visit your nearby dentist and get a check-up done.

Anjjali’s Weight Loss Story

By Anjjali,

anjj weight loss

Hiii friends,

I know we all mommies want to lose weight as soon as possible after delivery…and yes it is possible with regularity and hardwork and some time…here I am to share  my weight loss story with u guys and if anyone of u after reading this gets motivated and gets back to track I will be happy.

To strt with i had almost gained 20 kilos during my pregnancy inspite of being active and taking regular walks during my entire pregnancy period, My pregnancy story here
Though i lost some weight after delivery, it came back after hvng all those ladoos and ghee, dry fruits and so on…those ladoos and other things gradually stopped after 3 months but till then i had gained all tht i lost soon after delivering my son.

So to start with my first step i started taking my baby in his pram for walk (after he turned 3 months) with which i started my brisk walks…..though i wanted to start with exercises eagerly but my gync (Praveena Shenoi) had strictly told me a big NO till first 6 months as i was breastfeeding my baby…..though she was fine with me going for walks she asked me not to do any exercise with it……so i just strted with walks everyday in evening within my complex….one round is around 1 kilometre in my complex so i took 2 rounds ie 2 kilometre with my baby  being in stroller and sleeping mostly :-)… let me tell u the results were showing though not drastic but yes walks were helping……though in my heart i was waiting to complete 6 months and strt my exercises..So as soon as i completed 6 months i joined my favourite Power Yoga classess…these are the classess which i was doing before pregnancy too so it was my obvious choice and i know how benefical it has been to me in past…i hve gym too in my complex but for some reason i hate gyming!!!

So from 6th month onwards i was going for power yoga twice a week with my walks continued…in these 2 months i felt my body was tonning(i was losing inches but not yet weight tht much) but definitely the sagging part of tummy was reducing due to surya namaskars …in power yoga classess our instructor makes us do around 30-35 surya namaskars and girls it helps a lot to reduce tummy….i was happy but not satisfied…..i knew i have to do something more so tht my workout becomes for 5-6 days a week as i was not satisfied with only 2 days a week workout…..Thus i started looking for instructor who can come home as it was not possible to leave my baby everyday and go as its only me and my hubby managing our kid alone…In some days i  found a pilate teacher who was ready to come home..thus my 2 day workout turned into 5 days…which was scheduled like 2 days power yoga and 3 days pilates..however i didnt stopped my walks(somehow i dont wish to stop my walks as they hve always helped me before too to stay fit ) Continue reading

So basically since 8 month onwards my workout was almost for 2 hrs a day..mor 1 hour poweryoga or pilates on alternate days..evening fast walk for half an hour from 5 to 5:30 pm and night again fast walk for half an hour (ie as soon as my baby slept and my hubby was back from his work so time was not fixed but i didnt missed it at all even if it meant me gng for walksa at 10:30 pm as my hubby comes from office by 9 pm)…now it was working grttt!!!!! One advice which my instructor gave me was that u can/ should workout for 6 days a week and one day u should keep as complete rest day..even walks should not be done…I followed this religiously..Sunday was my rest day J

My focus was just not on reducing weight but to hve a toned body also..i didnt want tht i loose my weight but hve bulging arms, tummy or hips..so i always focus tht my exercise do hve tonning part too along with weight loss. Finally almost after 9 months ( i strted slowly but steadily since 3rd month onwards ) of hard work the results were visible and i had dropped all weight during my sons first birthday :-)

At present, i hve stopped pilates class but i do continue with my 2 day power yoga and had joined 1 day zumba class..as i love variations and dnt want my body to get use to a particular workout. so basically now i workout for 3 days a week….though i continue with my walks in evening and night.

I know I was also able to give 2 hrs a day since I am stay at home mom and working moms will complain that we don’t get time but trust me girls u still can do it/have to do it….. I lost weight in 9 months u will take 15 months,so wht?????but it will be gone so do find time for exercise if not 2 hrs then atleast 1 hr, do at home watching videos or join somewhere but make it a part of ur schedule also it gives u time only for urself in tht entire mad rush of day!!!!!

Also let me tell u i haven’t followed as such any dieting plans as i m not a dieting type girl and neither do on daily basis i hve such food tht i need to diet…its normal dal roti sabzi which obviously i dnt wish to cut down..though on weekends i do go out and have whatever i want ….but tht has not affected my weight loss in any ways..

The only thing i followed was i had lukewarm water every now and then and specially after my every meal and also I  finish my dinner by 8 or 8:30pm … i believe weight loss done by only dieting is not beneficial!!! However if u consume lotts of fast food then u do need to diet. Also i never store any fast food type foods like maggi, ready made soups, pasta or chocholates or cakes and so on at my home…as it becomes very tempting to have them when i see them in front of me…its not like i dont hve them at all but if i wish to have it then i should go and buy them at tht time itself and many times it doesnt happen tht i m able to buy it instantly and thus i am saved from eating them. So this is just a tip : avoiding storing such foods at ur home!!!!

Anywys for me exercise has always been a part of my schedule irrespective of my weight loss or not i was very particular abt my exercise before pregnancy too and i continue to do it till i die….As doing exercise is a part of my lifestyle and not just a necessity :-)

All I would say after delivery its quite normal to gain weight don’t be ashamed of it but don’t keep it with u forever…many ppl who use to met me during initial days were like kitna weight gain kar liya tumne…pehla kitni patli thi..ab kya huya and so on and I was like wht do u expect tht I become Katrina kaif soon after delivering ;-)….but it was so useless explaining them and burning my blood I did wht I was suppose to do and my body spoke ..so dnt be disheartened …if u regularly do exercise weight loss does happen.

At last i will say its my dedication and will tht lead to weight loss..had i joined classess and not gone to them or nt gone for my walks i would have not achieved results…so my friends  work hard and be regular and make sure u loose that extra weight by hook or crook!!!! or else tht weight will just keep on piling and u will become aunty very soon…..dnt talk big but do it and show it…..just remember where there is a will there is definitely a way !!!!

Social pressures of Childless Couples

If you don’t have a baby for few years the way people treat you is very different.

We attend so many functions, and every time someone will come up to you and say I hope you have a baby soon. In naming ceremonies and birthdays you will hear next is your turn. New years and birthdays you will hear, I hope this year you will have a baby. It’s worse if someone married after you already got a baby comparison starts off right away.

At times you just feel, why can’t these people leave us alone. And why should our life be perfect, bug us if we got good marks, if we got a job, if that was campus placed, when we are getting married, now baby. The list is never ending.

I attended an etiquette class and the first thing we learnt was not to ask someone if they are married or if they have kids. Continue reading

Why people don’t have kids is their choice or something they are going through and its personal. I know we cant shut the mouth of everyone but it’s very tough to deal with it.

In other countries even young people back answer older people if they don’t like what they say. But in India it’s the biggest offence. The problem is not everyone cares for you. Some people genuinely care that we should have a baby soon, others are quite happy that nothing is happening. Those are the ones I hate.

Watch out even before you advice people without kids or give doctor recommendations, there is a way t do it without hurting.

Not having a baby is not a crime there can be many reasons. Some people are waiting for it to happen, some do not want kids, some like to adopt, whatever it is, it’s their problem.

I know my dance instructor who does not want to have kids as she has dedicated her life to dance, and then people treat their pets as babies. I know being a momma is a special thing but as a mother its better to understand a girls feeling of what she is going through without a baby.

In todays world there are so many treatments and so many options to have a baby, so people dont worry. Over everything God is there.

So my only request is if you come across childless couples, there is so much more to talk. If there is some good news they will inform you.

Love all you mommas here, I too will be momma soon but after many many years of trying. Do pray for me.

Review of Woodward Gripe water

IMG_1103

Do you remember the famous slogan “Granny told Mother and Mother told me.” Yea, our very own gripe water. My sister is a lot younger to me and I remember finishing off all her gripe water when I was a kid. Even now I love to taste it once in a while but it’s too sweet for my liking now.

Initially a lot of people recommended the product to me, but as the doctor had asked me to exclusively breastfeed for 6 months, I refused to try this.

My baby was a colicky child and she would cry every evening with pain till we used  colicaid drops which was chemically made. So after my baby turned 3 months, I started her with gripe water twice daily. I followed the measurements on the bottle Continue reading

From the wikipedia:

Gripe water is a home remedy for infants with colic, gastrointestinal discomfort, teething pain, reflux and other stomach ailments. Its ingredients vary, and may include alcohol, a bicarbonate, ginger, dill, fennel and chamomile. It is typically given to an infant with a dropper in liquid form, and adults may also take gripe water for soothing intestinal pains, gas or other stomach ailments.

Composition: sodium bicarbonate is the main ingredient; it also has dill and fennel oils

Right now it provides some relief for teething.

One disadvantage: It does not come with a dropper so I have to use droppers from other medicines.

For kids above 8 months, you can add a tbsp of gripe water in their water

Anjjali’s Normal Delivery Experience

By Anjjali,

anjj delivery

I was keen to have a normal delivery since I got pregnant and I had it !!!!
But no it was not so simple as it sounds….my due date which was given by doctor was 11th june 2012…My entire pregnancy period was problem free so me and my doctors were quite confident of me delivering normally. I went for my routine check up on 24th May 2012 and my gync Dr.Praveena Shenoi asked me to come on 29th May for an internal checkup (IC)…I was kind of scared of it and had my pre-notions abt it already.

The entire week went by and I was terrifying and I kept on asking my friends ki is IC painful and so…I really wished my gync would hve not told me tht she will do IC in coming week and would have just done it…tht would hve worked better for me.
Atlast I rchd on 29th may to meet my doc..given a chance I might hve run away..i still don’t know y I am so teriified of IC when I was ready for normal delivery…doc came and she tried yes tried doing IC…I just didn’t allowed her and strt screaming..god I created so much scene…she asked my hubby and MIL to calm me..they tried but as if they were going through it how would they understand!!!!

Finally somehow she managed and told baby head is yet not fixed so we will wait till 11th ie my given due date if it doesn’t happen till 11th then we will induce pain or do C-section. Also she adviced me to be mentally prepared if I get so scared during IC how will I cope with normal delivery???? She was leaving her room and I said her: Maam I don’t know how I will cope with pain but I will only have normal delivery (c how confident I was). Thus she added in case today u hve slight pain/discomfort or spotting of blood then dnt worry it happens during Internal checkups.

When I came out of gync room my mil was like I dnt think so ur delivery will stretch till 11th june u wil deliver in 2-3 days ..hmmm I was wondering who is my doctor now.
So after I went home I started with tuitions and took them till 6 pm ..after tht I use to go for walks ..but tht day I was feeling bit uncomfortable and didn’t wish too..but I still went, however after one round I told my hubby and mil tht I m kind of nt keeping well and would like to go back home and rest…by the time we rchd home it was 7 pm and discomfort increased… Continue reading

I knew something was happening but was not sure if I can call it as labor pains as nothing was high enough…also I had this in mind tht since today I got internal check up done and as doc said there might be some discomfort it might be due to that and will end soon.
Two of my friends came to meet me and I chit chatted with them but was still not feeling comfortable…they too said it might be due to internal checkup so I ignored…I had dinner and by tht time my elder sister who had come for my delivery was back from bangalore darshan and I went for a walk again with her and my mil…gradually while taking walks the pain stopped and I was relaxed and happy that finally its over and now I dont need to worry I will go and sleep peacefully (Little did I knew I will not be able to sleep peacefully since that day onwards )

I went back home chit chatted and left to sleep…everyone were tired so they slept but I was not able to sleep..i again started feeling uncomfortable the moment I lied down and if I sit or walk it was kind of okk…but if I lay down the pain increased…this time I also saw some blood but it was quite little and again I thought its due to internal checkup…however how hard I tried I was not able to sleep..

i kept on taking walks in my room or sat on toilet as I felt like going to loo every now and then…my pain was not loud enough so I didn’t want to wake up anyone, though my hubby was awake and he asked if shall we go to hospital, it was 12 in the night and I thought its better to wait as it might be false alarm too for pains.
I was taking rounds and rounds of my room or drawing room…meanwhile my sister too woke up and made coffee for me…by that time I passed some blood everytime I went for loo…it was 3 am and 30th may and feeling was getting uncomfortable though not loud…but we decided we will go to hospital as I was passing blood and the pain had started though not loud but since 7 pm…(I was kind of sure tht this is only due to internal check and I will be send back home)

We woke up my mil,fil my jiju ,kids ….all of them were like waiting for this to happen..we brushed, took our bags did small puja and left for CloudNine hospital ( u know girls I always thought I will be rushed to hospital in tht filmy style where I am screaming and all and there is lottt of traffic and my hubby is struggling to reach hospital ) but alas nothing as such happened…it was 3 am there was no traffic neither was I screaming in fact I was listening to songs.

We reached the hospital and nurse checked my dilation and pains intensity……she declared pains are real and I am 4 cm dilated so I need to be admitted also the doc on duty will examine me and we were allotted room. I was like is this really happening ..is my baby going to come in this world today itself ie 30th may ??? I was not nervous at all and was enjoying the process tillll……..
Till the doc on duty came and insisted on internal checkup…I asked her if it was necessary and she said yes and yeah she tried to do it to which I resisted…somehow in sometime she managed but was upset with me….Then all the cleaning and other procedures was done..I called my mother and told her to come immediately from Mumbai as our baby is goona come soon..she was supppper excited and dad told me that they will book the tickets immediately after that i called my best friend Mamta and told her tht I have been admitted. She too promised to reach soon.

I was normally chit chatting, observing other ladies who were admitted before me /after me/can hear loud cries of girls wo were trying to deliver/saw the happy news of arrival of baby being delivered to fathers and saw them crying too…actually doctors were waiting for my pains to increase on their own so we waited for 4 hrs and meanwhile I was taking walks around the corridors as I had nothing to do
…Just wait and watch.

Then around 7 pm Dr.Praveena Shenoi came and examined me..she told tht lot of water discharge had happened and we will induce pains to u…so I was induced with pains and gradually the drips strted working and pain strted increasing..around 10 am I was 7 cm dilated and my pains had increased considerably…so it was decided tht I should be moved to labour room.(Now let me tell u tht in this entire time period time evry doc on duty who had come to examine me did internal check up on me …ahhhh c this is how it happens I resisted it everytime and it happened more and more with me..every doc left annoyed…..but what can I do girls…it was painful for me )

So now I was moved to labour room where my hubby was allowed to stay inside with me to c how much suffering I am going through (anywys I don’t know how I would hve managed without him)…there was a monitor attached which showed the intensity of pain and when it reached to its peak I was asked to push…but my baby was not coming out though I had dilated considerably…I was crying/yelling like anything as the pains had been to its peak and I wanted it to stop!!!!

In btwn i dont know how come my didi came to labour room with my hubby (u remember my hubby was inside with me all the time) she too had tears in her eyes and placed a Krishna photo near my pillow..i dont remember if anything miraculous happened after tht but i do feel nice when i think abt it now…My jiju and Father in law were  not able to c me in so much pain and hear me shouting my lungs out ,so they decided to stay downstairs instead of waiting outside the labour room.
Given a chance i might have kicked the nurse( m sorry to say this but yes i was damn angry by this time and was at peak of my anger…later i came to know its normal for girls to get angry while having normal delivery)…basically the nurse was kind of helping me by giving breathing instructions but i was in no mood to listen to her instructions in so much pain and i literally asked my hubby to shut her mouth ..Poor hubby :-)
It was around 11:30 am…..Dr.Praveena came and examined me and said tht I m losing my water a lot so max we can wait is till 1 pm or else we had to do a C-section before the water dries up completely…me and my husband were sad..we didn’t wanted a C-section!!!!
I could feel the time had slowed down and my pains were increasing by each passing minute …finally doc was back at 12:30 pm and asked me and my hubby to sign the papers for C-section as the water was drying up…I saw my husband in tears…and yes it did hurt to sign those papers..but wht would could we do…,doc had waited a lott..it was from previous day 7 pm tht my water discharge had strted and now it was next day 12:30 pm…almost 18 hrs!!!!

We did sign with a heavy heart..again all the procedures required for C-section was done…Dr.Praveena said meanwhile this all thing are going on I will be back…there was another doctor around: Dr.Sandhya she saw our sad puppy faces and did Internal Checkup on me and said u hve dilated completely… Anjjali u want normal delivery..lets try for one last time…I can see ur baby head has come down!!!! I was ready to try ..…Dr.Praveena was back…Dr.Sandhya discussed with her and Dr.Praveena said to me Anjjali if u r willing then lets do it…I said yes doc I am…I was very much in pain, too tired….so there was this third doc who was motivating me to push and not waste energy in shouting and fourth doc sitting on my stomach and pushing baby out..i listened to their instructions and finally after 3 pushes my son was outtttttttt…phewwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!

Ahhhh wht a relief…I still remember Dr.Praveena said it’s a boy washed her hands and had come and hugged me…she said its only bcos of ur will power tht u had a normal delivery or else I had prepared to do C-section on you…it was moment of joy for me and my hubby..all the other docs praised me too .
It was a memorable experience…..yes I had a 18 hrs labour..it was very painful in my case but its not necessary tht it happens with everyone….So stay positive and have a strong will..god does grants ur wishes!!!!

Review of Johnson’s Baby Cologne-Summer Swing

Hello gorgeous ladies. Today I would like to admit one thing; I am huge huge fan of baby products and till date I use Johnson baby soap J  though I know it is very childish and my mother keeps on saying what will happen to this girl, who does at the age of 23 applies a baby soap. And recently while exploring these favorite products of mine, I discovered a new cologne with the brand name of Johnson’s.

I was so excited to buy it, that I couldn’t even complete my shopping list and got it billed quickly. In my neighborhood I have a cute little baby who had access to all such baby products and he smelled awesome whenever his mother use to bring him home. I use to actually envy his fragrance. ;) So I added up to his list of colognes, one more from the Johnson’s family. I gifted him this bottle of cologne

Coming to the product here are few details:

This baby cologne when applied on to the skin gives a mild cooling effect in addition to the fragrance. It is a clear liquid and can be applied with ease by pouring a little amount in the hands. Continue reading

Packaging: it comes in cute light green coloured transparent plastic bottle in which the cologne can be seen.

Quantity: 125ml

Price: 120 INR

Ingredients: alcohol, denat, water and fragrance.

My take on the product:

Perfumes and fragrances are the inevitable part of our daily routine. You have always loved using them in either form of perfume to deodorants to colognes. Now most of them come with a pump in the bottle, this product came only with the small opening in the cap of the bottle. It can be applied in the right amount by taking the required amount and rubbing it off.

Johnson’s Baby Cologne Summer Swing is almost a body splash. It is very light and fresh smelling, sort of citrusy with very faint floral. For anyone who loves the smell like summer fresh and grassy fields-like, this is wonderful for your baby. it gives your baby that great, cooling, after-bath feeling. It’s not powdery at all. Jut clean, fresh and playful scent that is non-greasy and fast drying.

Another thing I would like to mention is that, it also moisturizes the skin to some extent too. It makes it soft and subtle. Moreover it not an assault to your nose since its fragrance is very calm and I personally prefer applying it just before I leave from my place. All in all it can be used for babies to give them a refreshing smell.

Pros

• Fragrance of course, it’s worth giving a try

• Handy bottle which can be carried very easily

• It can also be transferred into a spray bottle and can be used as per requirements

• Its costs is cheaper as compared to the other perfumes available which actually make a big hole in your pocket

Few disappointments:

Usually I hate writing this part for a product but I must admit the following faults seen which are

• Fragrance does not last longer than 2 hrs.

• No matter how many times you apply it to the baby skin, the moment you wash their hands, fragrance is gone.

• It is said alcohol based products are not good for babies, so this adds one more negative point to it.

Recommendation to friends who have babies:

Definitely I would recommend its use to my elders who have babies, even if they keep it on trial basis. I am sure they would not mind keeping it in their bags.

Buying again: yes I would surely buy it again as I am in love with its fragrance while equally accepting the fact that it does not stay longer.
