By Admin,

Are baby boys that different from baby girls?

While there are differences, with anatomy being the most obvious one, those that have to do with brain development are actually pretty small. That means you don’t have to worry about boys being more aggressive or girls lacking spatial skills.

It all comes down to how much love, attention, and encouragement you give your little one. So take this as a challenge to help your baby reach his or her full potential.

But of course, it’s only natural to feel curious about these things, especially if you’re having a baby boy for the first time. It’s a good thing then that there are tried and true tips you can follow to help you prepare for the arrival of your little guy.

Here are 3 of them.

1. Start with the Basics

Whether you’re having a boy or a girl, you have to have the essentials ready. These include clothing, blankets, feeding equipment (if you’re not breastfeeding), and so on.

Now speaking of clothing, one concern soon-to-be-parents have about boy clothes is the lack of options. That is, compared to baby girl clothing.

The good news is there are more baby boy clothes to choose from online. Plus, you can always go for gender-neutral pieces to add to your baby’s wardrobe.

2. Practice Your Diaper-Changing Skills

Changing a newborn baby boy can be tricky. The thing you have to remember is baby boys may feel the urge to pee when their genitals are exposed.

It helps if you practice so you can clean him up and change him fast. You can also drape a wipe or a clean cloth over his penis to act as a shield so you won’t get sprayed in the face.

Another thing you should remember is to angle his penis so that it points down. If it’s pointing up, his pee will stream right out and soak his clothes.

3. Pick a Name for Your Baby Boy

You want your son to have a great name. And it seems everyone and their mother have suggestions.

If you don’t like the baby boy names you’ve come across so far, there’s no need to fret. There’s a system you can follow to come up with the perfect name for your child.

In this system, you’ll be checking for 5 things: sound, uniqueness, significance, initials, and names that age well. For the sound, you’ll have to see if the name that you’ve picked goes well with your last name. As for the other 4, they’re quite self-explanatory.

Are You Excited to Meet Your Little Guy?

For sure your baby boy can’t wait to meet you too. So keep that excitement and channel it into consuming as much information as you can about being a good parent.
