Hi Mums,
Sorry for the long gap. Im back with some great health tips and recipes.
Nowadays, we find so many new herbs in the market. I have always used these herbs in pastas and pizzas and never dared to use them in Indian cooking. But they work very well with Indian food too and why miss out on all the heath benefits when its so easily available. Just make sure you dont overuse it and too many spices will kill the flavor. Too much raw parsley will smell like betel leaf
Here are some benefits:
- Parsley has anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory properties.
- Packed with vitamins A, B, C, and K.
- It has high iron, calcium, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, and zinc.
- Helps with anemia, arthritis, kidney problems, hair growth, immunity building and so much more
Recipe of Butter Garlic Parsley Rice
The name says it all. We just need Minced garlic or garlic paste (1tsp), Chopped parsley (1 bunch), 1 cup (uncooked Basmathi rice), Butter, Chilli Powder and salt. You can add peas if you want.
Basmathi rice has very less starch hence Im using it for health benefits.
Procedure:
1- Soak Basmathi rice with water for 10 mins
2- Meanwhile in a pressure cooker, add 1 Tbspn butter and garlic, fry for a very short time as the butter might burn the garlic. Now add chopped parsley and chilli powder and fry till parsley looses all its water.
3- Finally add rice and salt with water (1 and half cups) and cook for 1-2 whistles.
You can also cook the rice separately and follow step 2.
