My son started teething, in the winter months. The place where we live ,we have a nice & cold weather. But last year , it was too cold. I could not even think of soothing him , with the help of common teething remedies., like cold spoon , cold teether , cold food … So I was little worried, how to soothe my little one , who was in severe pain & discomfort.
My father , is fond of Ayurveda, he keeps reading books & literature , by which he has gathered , a lot of information regarding the same. So he suggested me to use DIKEMALI POWDER, for soothing my teething son . A quick ,easy remedy to soothe a teething baby. I consulted My son’s pediatrician before using it.
HOW DO I USE IT
It is available in powder form . Please buy either branded Ayurvedic product , or from trusted Ayurvedic store. Since it is to be used for babies, we can not risk adulteration.
I , first stored it in , clean & dry, airtight container, to avoid contamination.
In a well sterilized bowl or spoon , take breast milk or boiled & cooled water, to which add about a pinch of Dikemali powder. Please see to it that the consistency , should be paste like.
Please , clean your hands with hand sanitizer / soap.
Take a little amount of this paste on finger & gently massage gently on your little ones gums.
How It Benefited My Son
I observed that , after I applied Dikemali powder in paste form to my son’s swollen gums , the swelling reduced & pain was relived. Hence, I was able to soothe my teething baby in the months of cold.
So If you are stuck in situation like me ,this is the quick, easy, safe , effective remedy to soothe a teething baby.
Happy parenting !

How to Soothe The teething Baby
My baby have 10 teeth can I still use this powder for cleansing theeth n gums?
Thank you. I was informed by my babysitter to do this dikemali powder massage with breastmilk on baby’s gums. Your article reconfirmed it. A suggestion on not to use sanitizer or handwash or chemical based soap just before putting finger in baby’s mouth. The chemicals used in all of these stick to our fingers and eventually pass into baby’s mouth. So my doctor says to wash hands in plain water or to find a organic mild chemical free baby soap like Rustic Art or simply use ubtan to wash hand.
Happy parenting.
