Hello all my lovely readers, wishing all of you a splendid New Year. Hope you continue to support us like always. This year you can expect more articles on the blog, there are lots of interesting articles in store for all of you.
Humidifiers are very popular abroad and its slowly gaining popularity in India. This was always on my wish list during winters. In Bangalore winters are not that bad but the air is extremely dry and both my daughter and me suffer from extremely dry skin. But this year Crane USA has launches its sales in India and I had to grab one. We are free from dry skin this winter.
Humidifiers release moisture into the air, its very different from a steamer, you cant feel the moisture on your hands, its blends so well with the air in the room. In my next article I will be reviewing my Crane Humidifier so before that I thought ill do a post on the uses of a humidifier.
Humidity acts as a natural moisture agent that can relieve dryness. For this reason, humidifiers are often used for relieving:
  • Dry Skin
  • Sinus Congestion
  • Dry Throat
  • Nose Irritation
  • Bloody Noses
  • Dry Cough
  • Cracked Lips

Babies have sensitive skin and even more sensitive respiratory systems. During the winter time, when central heaters are turned on and indoor humidity drops to 10 percent or less, the dry air can irritate a baby’s skin, nose, and lungs. This cold, dry air also helps viruses to grow. Furthermore, when babies come down with a cold or respiratory infection, they cannot take the same over-the-counter drugs that an older child or an adult can; their small bodies are too fragile for strong medicines.

By moisturizing the air, babies experience relief from congestion and cold symptoms. The vapor from the humidifier helps to loosen the mucus clogging their nose, throat, and chest, making it easier for their bodies to recover from sickness and keeping them more comfortable as they fight off a cold or infection. Additionally, the moist air produced by a humidifier helps to relieve skin problems. Chapped lips, dry eyes, and itchy skin can all irritate babies who live in dry climates or whose climate becomes dry during the winter. Therefore, Pediatricians across the globe consider our Crane Humidifiers as a ‘MUST HAVE’ product for all babies.
