Summer Hair and Skincare for Moms

Hi Moms,

Im in my mid thirties and many people ask me how I have such a glowing skin and good hair. Nothing comes easily, I put a lot of effort to maintain my skin and hair. So here are some quick tips for you.

Im not a person who has time to depend on packs made at home, I choose good skincare and haircare products which help me. First make sure you have a different set of products for summer, right from soap, in winter use a cream based bodywash and summer use everything water based because cream based products will clog your pores and trap the sweat.

Skincare

Drink plenty of water and fluids which will keep your skin glowing.

Wash your face twice or thrice a day (do not use soap), use a mild facewash, I use Kaya Cleansing Gel, it costs aroung 650 and stays for 2-3 months.

Use a water or gel based moisturizer or serum. I use Kaya Nourishing lotion though its meant for the night and at times I use the Vitamin C serum. These products cost 650 and 1200 I guess. But one pump is enough and the products last for a long time.

A good sunscreen is a must, especially for new moms and pregnant mommies as hormonal changes can cause freckles and patches when sun falls on your face. I use lotus sunscreen which is has a slight tint. So  no tinted moisturizer for summer.

Finally I use a SPF based studio fix powder from MAC while going out.

During the night I use the same kaya lotion before sleep and exfoliate my face once a week with a home made scrub (oats and honey/ besan and sugar and yogurt)

Hair Care:

Summer is the time my hair totally dries and falls, so I make it a point to oil my hair once a week and I use conditioner only during summers.

I use olive oil once a week for one hour before bath.

Shampoos I use: Loreal Spa Shampoo, Fab India Shampoo for normal hair

Conditioner: Forest essential vanilla conditioner

Make sure you cut or trim your hair once during summer, to remove split ends.. So moms, enjoy your summer with glowing skin and hair!
