1 Minute Eggless Microwave Chocolate Chip cookies

cookie

Here’s a surprise for your kids snack box. 1 minute chocolate chip cookies, yeah you heard it right just one minute. That too without any raising agents.

I always thought chocolate chips were expensive and used broken chocolate every time a recipe involved chocolate chips. Last week when I saw a box of chocolate chips only for Rs 50  ( that too a big box) I picked it up instantly. Then I was wondering what I can do with it, with the small time-frame that my little one gives me.

So I browsed through and found a quick recipe, you can find it here. He has made one big cookie which did not work for me so I made 3 instead.

Actually gone are the days where I used to pick up complicated recipes, now its all 1-10 mins recipes only. Actually Im thinking of writing a cookbook with lazy bum recipes.. lol.. Ok so here it is: Continue reading

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tbsp melted butter
  • 2 Tbsp sugar/ preferably powdered
  • Few drops of vanilla essence
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tsp milk
  • 3 Tbsp maida/flour
  • 2 tsp chocolate chips

Procedure

Mix melted butter and sugar till sugar dissolves. Use powdered sugar for fast results. To this add salt, vanilla and milk and beat once. Add flour and mix, at the end add chocolate chips and bind with your hand. You will find a sticky dough, if it’s too sticky use a little extra flour, the dough will be soft but should not stick to your palms.

Now make 3 balls and place it on a plate, just flatten it with your palms, try to keep the center a little more thicker. And put it in the microwave for 1 minute, you may want to open it at intervals and keep checking. I put the cookie for an extra minute and burnt another batch. So if its not cooked, again cook it for few seconds, keep checking every 20 secs.

Now your gooey, mildly crisp chocolate chip cookies are ready.

World Osteoporosis Day – Start loving your bones

Source

Today is world osteoporosis day!

Osteoporosis is a common type of bone disease in women.
Just keeping the Medical facts aside, all I can say is that this disease can be kept at bay by:

– Eating a balanced meal including a good portion of fruits and veggies. Here is something I read the other day.
Balanced meal would be a mix of colours on your plate : white rice, Brown chapattis, red tomato, yellow dal, green leafy veggies. Other inclusions are bonus benefits.

– Maintaining a healthy body weight

– Being physically active

– this disease generally attacks after the age of 45 so start taking that extra care by Increasing your intake of calcium and vitamin D after you hit 30 .

Start early for a healthy tomorrow !

Baby Food 6 Months Above- Yogurt/Dahi/Curd

Source

We all know the benefits of yogurt, it’s a part and parcel of our Indian food be in a accompaniment with rice or roti, or curd rice in the south. Even milk haters like me love yogurt, salted sweet, flavored etc.

Yogurt is a valuable health food for both infants and elderly persons. For children, it is a balanced source of protein, fats, carbohydrates, and minerals. For senior citizens, who usually have more sensitive colons or whose intestines have run out of lactase, yogurt is also a valuable food. Elderly intestines showed declining levels of bifidus bacteria, which allow the growth of toxin-producing and, perhaps, cancer-causing bacteria. Yogurt may help prevent osteoporosis, reduce the risk of high blood pressure. Yogurt with active cultures helps the gut, may discourage vaginal infections, and may help one feel fuller. Source- Wikipedia

Its safe to give your baby yogurt when he or she turns 6 months. It’s the best source of calcium for babies, as babies younger than 12 months cannot feed on milk. It is one of the easiest baby food you can think off and filling too. You can give it to your baby for an evening snack or after breakfast. I prefer to make fresh yogurt at home.

How to prepare yogurt at home: Continue reading

Boil milk and let it cool to a level where you can dip your finger inside without burning. Do not let the milk cool completely. For kids you can use full fat milk. But I prefer normal milk. To this add 2 tsp of yogurt (for half liter milk). Close the vessel and keep it in a warm corner so that its not disturbed. After 4-5 hours you will find the milk turned into yogurt. Now you can consume fresh or store in the fridge.

Baby food variations:

  • Yogurt with sugar
  • Yogurt and salt
  • Yogurt sweet and salt
  • Yogurt smoothie- choose any fruit and blend with yogurt. You can use apple, banana, avocado, chickoo, strawberries, mango etc.
  • Yogurt Raitha- add purees of carrot or any veggie to yougurt
  • Spinach yogurt- add spinach puree to yogurt

Something About Your Eyes

Today I’m doing a causal post, as I wanted to take a short break from the mommygyaan. So here it goes :)

Have you noticed kids eyes?? I’m sure every mom must have been eagerly waiting to make that eye contact with her baby, when the baby is around 3-4 months.I too used to do everything possible for my little one to look at me once. And now she constantly looks at me.

Even while feeding she will give me one stare once in a while. And off course, I love the times she waits for our attention and when we look at her, she gives us one big smile.

What do those eyes tell you?

For babies who cant speak I think the eyes do all the speaking. Their excitement, sadness, frustration, curiosity and so much more, you can just tell by looking into their eyes.

Sometimes when I go out alone, I see a baby looking at me it so much reminds me of my little one. You look into all their eyes its so similar, it speaks a same language. Continue reading

Once I left my little one at home and went out for a wedding, there I was playing with my niece. She bonded so well with me, guess its all because of the momminess now. Again I saw the same sparkle in her eyes, it made me miss my daughter so much, that I just rushed home to see her.

God bless all these little angels whose one look and one smile can make our day.

Chicco Ovattati Cotton Buds Review

I have been using normal cotton buds to wipe off water around my baby’s ears from day one. I learnt this from the masseur who used to massage my baby. But you need to very very careful while doing that as baby’s have delicate ears and any damage to their eardrums will make them deaf permanently.

I only freak out after a head bath as a lot of water accumulates around the ear, I gently wipe the ear flap but got very scared to clean the ears. But now with these ear-buds its very safe to clean the ears. Continue reading

Its soft and the shape makes it impossible to harm the ears. You can see the image for yourself.

Compared to other such products in the markets its very reasonably priced at Rs 130.

This is another must have product from my list.
