Hi Moms,

Today ill share with you a recipe from my mom. She always prepares this syrup when someone catches a cold and we have it in the form of a soup. Its both tasty and soothes the throat. You can store it in the fridge for upto a week. It can be given to infants above 1 year.

Ingredients:

  • Mint leaves- 1 cup
  • coriander leaves- 1/2 cup
  • Cumin Seeds- 1 tsp
  • Coriander seeds- 1sp
  • Ginger crushed- 1 inch piece
  • Peppercorns- 1 tsp
  • Ghee
  • Salt
  • Water
  • Tomato (1/2 optional only when your preparing this as a soup)

Procedure:

In a pan add 1 tsp ghee and to that add cumin seeds, coriander seeds, peppercorns and ginger at once and fry for few seconds. To this add mint and coriander leaves. Now add water and boil for 5 mins with some salt. If you want it to be tasty add tomato pieces while boiling.

Now strain this liquid and have it as a soup or tonic. If your adding tomato consume it the same day itself.
