Hello Mommies,
I hope you are enjoying the holiday season to the fullest. I know we have not done too many posts during the last few days, as we are all chilling out before the year ends. Here is my last post for this year.

We all consume a plate full of pesticides daily. You can see my post here.

Even washing fruits and veggies with hot water is not enough to remove some harmful pesticides. They are made to withstand rain so you can imagine. I saw some veg and fruit washes in the supermarket but they were expensive. I started hunting for some organic recipes and found the one below which I have modified and used. My mom too uses the wash now and we are both very much satisfied. So here’s the recipe:

Ingredients:

  • Plain Vinegar : 1 bottle
  • Baking Soda – 1 tsp
  • Salt- 1 tsp
  • Lemon – 1
  • Water
  • A storage jar

Procedure:

  • Mix vinegar and water in a 1:1 ratio in a big bowl. To this add salt, lemon juice and stir.
  • Now add baking soda slowly and stir little at a time, as the liquid will rise up with bubbles.
  • Now store it in a container and use.

How to use:

Take water in a bowl and add some of the wash (1-2 Tbsp) and drop in your veggies and fruits. Leave for a min and rinse again.

This kind-off sums up my New Year resolution of trying to lead an organic and natural life. Whats your plan???
