During pregnancy many women freak out using the same products that they used before as they feel that makeup would harm the baby. I was once a big makeup freak before I had my baby.
So here are some safe beauty treatment and makeup tips:
Facials, Clean ups: during the initial months you can sit through a facial. Usually the skin is very sensitive during pregnancy so use mild products.
Bleach: You can bleach your face; try not to bleach the body. Sit in a nicely ventilated place during bleach. Herbal bleach like Fem herbal bleach is good.
Lipstick: don’t use dark colors as it contains lead, go for mild colors.
CTM: You can use mild cleanser, alcohol free toners and moisturizer. Cleaners from Bodyshop are good or use coconut oil as a cleanser, try the toner from lush and a good oil free moisturizer.
Foundations: try to avoid them as they block pores and will hide all your natural glow.
Blush: Avoid blush it will make your already bloated face look worse.
Kajals and eye makeup: Avoid too much glittery makeup as the particle might harm the baby, a kohl or kajal is safe. Again sorry to repeat herbal ones like Shahnaz are considered safe.
Soaps and shampoos: most soaps and shampoos are safe during pregnancy.
Waxing: There is no proof that waxing induces contractions, I would say avoid on your legs, but for the hand its fine.
Eyebrow and Upperlip shaping: If you’re a very sensitive person and would start to contract or pull yourself back, avoid it.
Pedicure and manicure: Its totally safe and relaxing, try not to lift your leg too high during pedicure.
Haircuts: it’s good to trim your luscious hair.
Avoid:
Body massage: very few people know how to massage a pregnant lady, so don’t take a risk avoid it.
Hair coloring
Any chemical treatments like hair spa
Facials involving machines, lasers, IR, ultrasound, even if they say it’s safe, don’t take a risk, walk out.
