No Bake Tarts Recipe – Party Food

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Hi Moms

Jpeg

Are you kids bored of eating the same old pooris/rotis? Do you want to surprise them with little tarts? I call these cups as tarts as you can fill them with anything. I have displayed both sweet and savory fillings. I have filled one cup with khus khus kheer and another with vegetables. You can be as creative as you want.

I have used all purpose flour, you can use wheat flour. You need to fry these tarts just like your poori. Once you make these tarts, you can keep it aside in an airtight box and fill it with whatever you want. Its a great party food for kids.

Ingredients

Maida/Wheat Flour – 1 cup

Salt- a pinch

Melted Butter – 1 Tbspn

Water for binding

Filling of your choice

Procedure:

Add a pinch of salt to the flour and add melted butter/oil mix well till the flour is crumbly, if its still very dry add a little more oil/butter. Finally sprinle water till you form a tight dough. Cover and keep aside for 1 hour.

Now roll it like a poori and place a small cup in the center. Slowly fold the side till the cup is covered. Add holes to the bottom side of the cup so that the flour does not pop up.

Now add this cup (the coated cup) into hot oil and fry, you will see the steel cup separating from the dough. Slowly pull it out and add hot oil to the interior of the tart to fry.

Remove the tarts and add your favourite fillings. Enjoy.
