By Anitha,

Hi Friends,

Im giving you two versions of the recipe, one for toddlers and the other one for babies, as its not advisable to give them milk below one year.

Sooji is easily digestible and is made from wheat so its very good for babies.

Sooji Khanji for Babies:

  • Sooji – 1 Tbspn (use fine sooji)
  • Sugar
  • Water- 1 cup
  • Ghee
  • Formula powder (optional)

Fry Sooji in half a tsp of ghee and keep it aside when its light brown. In another pan, boil water and slowly add sooji and stir till it cooks well. Now add little sugar and turn off the flame when the sugar melts.

Finally add formula powder before serving. (Do not cook with formula powder)

Sooji Kheer for kids:

  • Rava or Sooji- 3/4 cup
  • Water- 2 cups
  • Milk- 2 – 3 cups
  • Sugar
  • Cardamon powder
  • Nuts
  • Ghee

Fry nuts in ghee and keep aside. In the same pan fry the sooji till its light brown color and keep aside.

Now heat water in a pan and slowly add sooji and keep stirring till its cooked and water is absorbed.

Now add milk and stir. Add sugar and cardamon and heat till all the sugar melts. Finally add the fried nuts and your ready to serve.
