While turning the TV on might be the easiest activity that comes to mind when you are feeling bored out of your mind, will it really satisfy you in the end? Let’s face it, most of the time, you can waste minutes and hours by simply flipping through hundreds of channels over and over again with nothing interesting to watch. Why not be creative then? Unique in your pastimes? There are many other ways to beat the boredom without television.

Write

In all honesty, this might not be for everyone but the fact that writing releases any possible tension and relieves stress stays true. From haiku to making memories in your diary, write your boredom away.

Pick Up An Instrument

When you do not have anything to do and, what’s more, you do not know what to do, it might be time to jump straight into practicing playing an instrument of your choice. You can also gather your friends and tackle the possibility of forming a band.

Cook A New Meal

If you want to try something new to eat, you do not have to wait one of your parents to find the time to cook for you. Make the first step yourself, and boost your skills in the kitchen by making something interesting that will be a nice surprise for your family as well as friends when they come over.

Take A Walk

Instead of spending time indoors, go out for a walk in nature when you have nothing better to do. Not only will you feel better and more energized thanks to the nice scenery and fresh air but you will also be able to clear your mind and contemplate some other things that bother you calmly.

Scooter Up

If regular walking just won’t cut it for you, spice things up by gliding around. This might not be the hoverboard from Back to the Future but self balancing scooter is the next best thing that would make you enjoy any time you spend outside even more.

Tidy Up

Tidying up your room definitely does not sound like a fun thing to do when you are bored but if done right, this can become your favorite activity. Basically, tidy up your room, redecorate it, make adjustments, pin the posters and all other possible things that would make your room more personal and a perfect way to show off your individuality.

Create

If you like drawing, get yourself a special sketchbook which will help you keep all of your precious drawings, doodles and character designs together.  Drawing is not all there is to creativity though. You can also make your own accessories such as badges and clothes/bags patches and many more with the help of DIY tutorials you can easily find online.

Learn A New Language

Start with learning a language of your choice. Knowing some other language apart from your own is a timeless way to be cool and it has never been easier to learn whatever language comes to your mind in this day and age with the help of online platforms and videos. You just have to be patient and determined in order to reach your goal. So why not replace your daily TV time with covering one language lesson?

When you are young, time works in your favor so it would be a real waste to spend it on something unoriginal such as watching same old TV programs. Dedicate some time of your day to fun hobbies and pastimes and become a true example of a fulfilled young person.
